Angel Vasilev
Angel Vassilev was born in Plovdiv in 1947. Unlike many other artists of his generation, he does not go through classical academy but begins his way in icon-painting. It undoubtedly develops originality in it and creates a recognizable style, sometimes associated with naive, but at the same time with its characteristic styling of the characters. Angel Vassilev has more than 50 solo exhibitions all over the world and in 2000 he has been awarded the Plovdiv Prize. Dies in 2014.
