Atanas Hranov

Atanas Hranov was born in 1961 in Plovdiv. Graduated in 1980. Secondary School of Arts, Kotel. In 1987, he graduated from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, majoring in "Wood Carving" under Prof. Anton Donchev.

He won the "Plovdiv" fine art award in 2001, and in 2004 he was awarded the "Dyakov" gallery award. In 2011, he implement the "Seventh Hill" project - in Plovdiv, where he lives and works. He is the author of over 40 solo exhibitions, participates in numerous joint initiatives and curatorial projects. He carries out joint projects with the poets Vesselin Sariev and Alexander Sekulov. His works are owned by the National Art Gallery in Sofia, many other museums in the country, as well as private collections in Bulgaria and abroad. He works in the field of plastic arts and painting, organically mixing genres with the mastery of a virtuoso. He has a perfect command of wood and uses it both in his sculptural works and in painting.
