Dimitar Vecin was born on 16 March 1950 in the village of Oreshets, Belogradchik.
His creative biography includes ten solo exhibitions in Sofia and the country and participation in many common art exhibitions. In recognition of his work, the Second Prize in the First International Naivissus Salon in Bucharest in 1997 and a diploma for the most original author of Art Expo in Sofia in 1998. His works are owned by the National the Art Gallery in Sofia, the art galleries in Targovishte, Montana, Vidin, Belogradchik, as well as private collectors in USA, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Turkey, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria.
Dimitar Vecin is a self-taught artist, whose style is defined by specialists as "neo-naïve". This definition includes the professional use of paints and colors in the reproduction of landscapes and figures with released proportions and alignments with the surrounding space.
