BIOGRAPHY

Born on October 10, 1927 in the village of Stavertsi, Pleven region. He studied in the village of Stavertsi, in the town of Oryahovo and in the town of Vratsa. He had a secondary technical education. He has been painting since 1950, initially drawing cartoons for newspapers and magazines, which he printed in the local and central press. He had about 300 cartoons published.

EXHIBITIONS AND PARTICIPATIONS

• Participated in General Art Exhibitions in Sofia and other cities of the country
• Became a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists in 1967, was elected to the leadership of the group of artists in the city of Pleven. He has been the chairman of its artistic council for twenty years.
• He had solo exhibitions in Sofia - 1973, Plovdiv - 1976, Ruse - 1977., Oreshak – 1982, Nikopol - 1989
• His paintings are included in representative exhibitions of Bulgaria in Mexico, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Iraq, etc.
• In 1993, he presented paintings at "Hotel Drouot" - Paris.

REWARDS

• Received national awards from OHI in Plovdiv - 1976., Ruse - 1970, Shumen - 1971, Smolyan - 1972.
• In 1971 became the recipient of the "Sofia Award for Painting" - III degree.
• He is a holder of the order "Cyril and Methodius" 1st and 2nd degree for merits in fine arts.
• The national and several cable televisions have broadcast documentaries about the creative path of the artist.
• In 1997 In connection with his 70th anniversary, he participated in the "Names" exhibition in Sofia.
• He participated in all editions of the Biennale of Small Forms in Fine Art - 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, held in Pleven.
• Winner of the special prize of the jury for painting at the first biennial of small forms in 2002.
• On the occasion of his 80th anniversary, he held three solo exhibitions in 2007 in the "Il. Beshkov" gallery, Pleven,
• 2008 in Papiyon Gallery - Varna; in the gallery of "Shipka" No. 6, Sofia.
• One of the nominated authors in the final exhibition - national awards for painting, sculpture and graphics of Allianz Bulgaria 2008.
• holder of the title "Honorary Citizen of the City of Pleven".

His paintings are owned by NHH - Sofia, many city art galleries, as well as private collectors and private galleries in the country and around the world.
