Art Gallery Le Papillon presents with great pleasure the artist Petya Taneva with her first solo exhibition. Twenty watercolors mixed in themselves the pigment with the means of the sun and the water, united by the theme "Deviations," tell us about the photographer and the designer's path in the passion for mastering watercolor technique. From March 21st to April 12th, 2019, in the space of the gallery will be shown works presenting both directions of the artist's searches. Vivid mysterious female portraits and classical still-life with fine detail, with the optical distortion of the eye looking for the structure of the material, reveal the talent of the artist and her exact drawing skills. The aesthetic Petya’s glance has been captured by objects of different timing, but all bearing the feeling of coziness, tenderness and still space. The objects that attract her concentration are filled with the spirit of past time, they carry the elements of kind, personal memories, often common and universal for many of her contemporaries. In each of her paintings with a masterful approach to determine clearly the accent, she has achieved the physical sensation of material, temperature and real shape - something hard to reach, especially with this difficult to master technique.
Each work included in the exhibition is very personal and has a recognizable imprint of the author's excitement. And the fact that her works will be presented for the first time to an audience in a solo exhibition makes each of them even more special and intimate. Petya paints true and genuine, charging with energy her works, very palpable in each of the portraits, capturing very well the state and the emotions at the moment of their sealing. Skilfully rendered not only the features and the shape of the person, their soul is developed and the feeling of close and personal contact remains. At the same time, the mystery of images creates an irresistible curiosity in the viewer about the origins of the history of each of them. Still-life of Petya Taneva, another favorite theme of her, are sealed moments and memories, to which one returns with trepidation and excitement. With not very complicated compositions, but with careful attention to the smallest detail, the artist shows his attitude to the watercolor technique:
"I've always had vision of the beautiful things and how to represent them in the best way, both in the photography and in the watercolor. For the last four years I have been doing watercolor paintings. When I started I did not know that this would be my main job. Watercolor is tricky and complex to perform. I still do not stop visiting masterclasses of world names in the watercolor. My first encounter and the first master class leaded by Atanas Matsoureff overturned my vision of the watercolor. My favorite themes are still-life, food and people. The technique I use is photorealism. I like this technique because through it I can best show the material. I like old objects that have a history and putting them in my still-life I want to be felt the spirit of time. In the same way, in the portraits I am searching not the perfectness, but the character and the emotional state of the model."
